Regular geodesic languages and the falsification by fellow traveler property

We furnish an example of a finite generating set for a group that does not enjoy the falsification by fellow traveler property, while the full language of geodesics is regular. AMS Classification 20F65; 20F10, 68Q80

A Non-hopfian Almost Convex Group

In this article we prove that an isometric multiple HNN extension of a group satisfying the falsification by fellow traveler property is almost convex. As a corollary, Wise’s example of a CAT(0) non-Hopfian group is almost convex.

Finiteness of certain local cohomology modules

Cofiniteness of the generalized local cohomology modules $H^{i}_{mathfrak{a}}(M,N)$ of two $R$-modules $M$ and $N$ with respect to an ideal $mathfrak{a}$ is studied for some $i^{,}s$ witha specified property. Furthermore, Artinianness of $H^{j}_{mathfrak{b}_{0}}(H_{mathfrak{a}}^{i}(M,N))$ is investigated by using the above result, in certain graded situations, where $mathfrak{b}_{0}$ is an idea...

ON GRADED LOCAL COHOMOLOGY MODULES DEFINED BY A PAIR OF IDEALS

Let $R = bigoplus_{n in mathbb{N}_{0}} R_{n}$ be a standardgraded ring, $M$ be a finitely generated graded $R$-module and $J$be a homogenous ideal of $R$. In this paper we study the gradedstructure of the $i$-th local cohomology module of $M$ defined by apair of ideals $(R_{+},J)$, i.e. $H^{i}_{R_{+},J}(M)$. Moreprecisely, we discuss finiteness property and vanishing of thegraded components $H^...

On the Finiteness Property for Rational Matrices

We analyze the periodicity of optimal long products of matrices. A set of matrices is said to have the finiteness property if the maximal rate of growth of long products of matrices taken from the set can be obtained by a periodic product. It was conjectured a decade ago that all finite sets of real matrices have the finiteness property. This conjecture, known as the “finiteness conjecture”, is...
